Florilegium Developing Story
These images tell a story that we plan to share using botanical art. Chris Whitehouse, a botanist from Phillipskop Nature Reserve, spotted this plant at the collaborative bioblitz on Monday. This is not Chris' photograph but is shared here for demonstration purposes; the illustrated bird by Jill Adams is a bokmakierie, which lends its name to this plant because of the striking similarity between the plant and the bird's tail feathers. One of the Grootbos Florilegium artists will capture this story through illustration, which will be a tale of a plant that looks like a tail.
