From Workers’ Day to Youth Job Opportunities
It was Workers' Day in South Africa, which was marked by a public holiday. On that day, we recognised the contribution and role of workers and trade unions in bringing an end to the Apartheid regime in our country; we also recognised the urgent need for employment and work for millions of willing young workers in our country.
That week was a short week, but was packed with 2nd round interviews, assessments and practical tasks as Grootbos Foundation selected 24 young adults for vocational skills training in Horticulture and Hospitality.
The need for skills training to create job pathways in the area was enormous. Those young hopefuls were keen and ready to learn the work skills, life skills and confidence they needed to become employable.
Grootbos Foundation was proud to be a part of their journey to jobs.
