A Creative Photography and Writing Challenge

In my mind’s eye...

Take a photograph of something that catches your attention.

It may be:

• a macro
• an abstract shape
• something ordinary
• something beautiful
• something unusual

Now write a poem, short story, monologue or reflection inspired by it. No more than 1,5 page lengths.

But here’s the twist:

Do NOT tell us what the photograph is.

On the evening when it is your turn:

• The photograph remains hidden.
• You read your piece aloud.
• We listen.
• We imagine.
• We each get one chance to guess what we think is in the photograph.

Only then is the photograph revealed.

Because

A drop of water may become:

• a tear
• a planet
• a crystal ball
• a memory

A rust stain may become:

• a dragon
• a wound
• a map
• a forgotten kingdom

A feather may become:

• freedom
• loss
• a letter
• a promise

Rules

The photograph MUST be your own.

No Google.
No Pinterest.
No AI

Only what you saw.
What YOU photographed.
A story YOU discovered inside it.

At the end of the evening, all the photographs will be shared in an album.

What We Thought We Saw...

One image.
Many stories.
Endless possibilities.
