At the council meeting held at 29 October 2014, Mayor Nicolette Botha-Guthrie presented an Award received from the Western Cape Productivity for outstanding achievement in productivity improvement.
The department of Local Economic Development was nominated on behalf of the Head Up Training and Developmentand was subsequently tasked to conduct a month long investigation to measure the productivity levels of the LED.
The following are some of the areas that were targeted for closer scrutiny and served as the criteria: a) Productivity Approach, b) Results and Impact, c) Overcoming Challenges and Obstacles, d) Sustainability and Transferability, e) Social and Environmental Impacts, f) Quality, g) Financial Performance, h) Stakeholder Satisfaction, and j) Internal Process Efficiencies.
