Johann Lodewyk (skipper) en Flippie Schoeman het as die Wingfield Motors span aan die Trans Agulhas rubberboot wedvaart deelgeneem. Hulle het goed gevaar in die gemodifiseerde klas en het 3de gekom.

Johann se jaag teen tyd was egter nog nie verby nie. Toe hy op Nuwejaarsdag in die Strand sy laaste skof voltooi het moes hy behoorlik daarvandaan jaag om betyds te wees by die Medi Clinic in Milnerton waar sy en Leoni se eersteling gebore is. Die seuntjie, Louis Lodewyk, is om 16h30 gebore en is die agter-kleinkind van Johan en Cecile Hanekom van Franskraal.
