It is holiday time again and we extend a warm welcome to all visitors to Gansbaai, the natural adventure destination. ‘n Hart-like welkom aan alle vakansiegangers en besoekers. I am sure you noticed the beautiful new entrance to the town. This is a combined effort by the Business Chamber, the Municipality and Tourism. This project is just the start and each time you come you are sure to see another project on the go or already completed.
Al is daar vanjaar nie ‘n Kreef Derby nie, is daar nogtans baie om te doen en ek is seker u gaan die tydjie hier geniet.
Gansbaai Tourism has “let the secret out” and has a new logo and marketing plan. There are some new displays in the bureau and lots of info so do pop in, meet the staff and let them tell you about all the new exciting ventures (for example APSS - the penguin and seabird sanctuary). Since December we in tourism have been very active and as part of Cape Whale Coast we have attended the Beeld Show in Midrand and the Getaway Show in Somerset West. Representatives of the Marketing committee attended a Media Trade show at the Cape Sun in Cape Town on Tuesday evening. We want everyone to know “our secret”!
With great pride I am able to announce that Gansbaai has been long listed as a Responsible Tourism Destination as part of the Wesgro Africa Responsible Tourism Awards. The aim of these awards is to “recognise inspiring African organisations that work to ensure tourism environments and benefit destinations and local people.”
I am equally proud to mention that Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in partnership with the Grootbos Foundation has been long listed in the category - Best for Poverty Reduction and Marine Dynamics in the category Best for Wildlife Conservation. So hold thumbs for us and watch the social media and press releases on 16 April!

Daar is verskeie aktiwiteite wat Paasnaweek plaasvind - Basaars in Pearly Beach en BARC Basaar in die Pretoriussaal en ons vertrou julle sal hulle ondersteun. Daar is ‘n langarmdans in B’bos Saterdagaand en al die restaurante het spesiale disse wat geproe moet word! Aandag alle kinders - Saterdag (4de) tussen 12:00 en 14:00 word daar verskeie aktiwiteite en ‘n paaseiersoektog by die buro aangebied - kom neem deel! Vir meer inligting oor die en die ander aktiwiteite wat aangebied word, kom besoek ons by die Great White Junction. Ons kan ook vir u vertel wat in die naburige dorpe aangaan en ons het daardie spesiale geskenk wat u soek in ons aandenkings-winkel.
