Eddie en Ansie Barnard was onlangs stomgeslaan oor die enorme slak in hulle tuin. Gansbaai Courant het ‘n vorige keer volledig oor dié groot knape berig.
Die slakke is destyds deur dr Sirgel, ‘n senior dosent aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch se Soölogie-departement as die Agatina zebra geïdentifiseer. Hulle beweeg hoofsaaklik snags in die tuin rond om te wei, maar wanneer die son opkom is hulle geneig om na skuiling te soek.
Hulle lê ‘n hele bol eiertjies (gelerig) en wanneer die buitenste gedeeltes afval, is die klein slakkies byna so groot soos ‘n mens se pinkienael.
