Glenda is so bevoorreg om eerskomende Saterdag, 31 Oktober 2015 na London te vlieg - en nie sommer vir haar plesier nie - sy gaan daarheen as Gansbaai se verteenwoordiger (eintlik ambassadeur!), aangesien Gansbaai gekortlys is vir die World Travel Market Responsible Tourism Destination Award - ‘n uitstaande prestasie vir Gansbaai! Glenda se vliegkaartjie en akkommodasie word onderskeidelik deur Wesgro en Overstrand Munisipaliteit geborg. Gedurende April vanjaar was Gansbaai een van 22 finaliste in die African Responsible Tourism Awards 2015, met twee toekennings wat verower is: Goud as die “Best Destination for Responsible Tourism”, asook Algehele Wenner, wat ‘n uitmuntende prestasie en enorme trots vir Gansbaai was en steeds is.
Met daardie toekennings het Gansbaai outomaties as ‘n finalis vir die World Responsible Tourism Awards gekwalifiseer. Dit is waarheen Glenda nou op pad is - die Wêreld Handelsentrum in London. Die aanvanklike hoeveelheid inskrywings was 1,500, waarna die lys na 121 verkort is en daarna is ‘n kortlys met 22 inskrywings opgestel. Destydse kommentaar was onder andere: “Since 1995 Gansbaai Tourism has worked to create awareness of and market the area as a tourism destination. The cluster of businesses in the area have worked together to develop an exemplary destination.”
Nogmaals sterkte. Glenda en Gansbaai hou alle duime vas dat jy met die Toekening sal terugkeer!
