Die SA Weermag het soos verlede jaar weer die afgelope naweek Operasie Corona geloods. 'n Tentekamp is by Gansbaai kampeerterrein opgerig en vier blitsige hawepatrolliebote is by die Nuwe Hawe gelanseer.
Die operasie is 'n gesamentlike optrede deur die SA Weermag, Vloot en Daff. Volgens die bevelvoerder, Kommandeur Wayne Combrinck, is die doel van die aktiwiteite om die land se mariene bronne en in hierdie spesifieke geval, perlemoen teen onwettige stropery te beskerm.
