Niël Jonker has been painting direct from the landscape for almost a decade, especially the South Western Cape that he grew to love while growing up in the Klein Karoo. Today Niël works prolifically both as painter and figurative sculptor where he has been commissioned for public monumental work and is collected internationally. He is a multi-disciplinary artist that works close to nature from his home studio in the Overberg village of Baardskeerdersbos. He is also a pioneer of artisan bread making in South Africa and offers monthly workshops, both in baking and outdoor painting.

Joshua Miles was born, and grew up in the Western Cape. After studying fine art at the University of Cape Town he met his Scottish wife in Hermanus, and spend a few years living in Scotland and London, before coming back to live in Baardskeerdersbos. He finds his inspiration in the landscapes of the Overberg and Little Karoo. Joshua is intrigued by light and water and translates it into oil paintings and reduction woodcuts.

Ivan Trollip was born in Pretoria. After his military service in 1980, he worked as a freelance visual merchandiser for a few years. Thereafter he started a landscaping business until 1989 when he decided that art was his calling and has painted and sculpted full time ever since. Ivan’s subjects include Landscapes of which Namaqualand form a large part of his portfolio. These paintings are heavily textured as they are executed with paint knives (impasto technique). Ivan is also the owner of the Baardskeer-dersbos Art Gallery.
