 ‘n Grootwithaai van sowat 4 meter het Dinsdag-oggend sy verskyning in die Nuwe Hawe gemaak. Volgens Visinspekteur Willy Hill het die roofvis vir sowat ‘n uur aan die binnekant van die lang hawemuur op en af geswem.

‘n Rob het later tussen die vasgemeerde dekskuite langs die kort muur opgedaag en die haai het in die misreën verdwyn.

Slegs die vorige middag nog het ‘n aantal jong manne aan die seekant van die Ou Hawe se lang muur branderplank gery.

Hulle moet bedag wees op hierdie waarskuwing en soos in Vishoek daaraan gehoor gee totdat hulle verseker is dat die besoeker die wyk geneem het. “Daar is ook kinders wat gereeld in die Nuwe Hawe swem,” het Willy gesê.
