“Freedom, fairness and opportunity – that is what we seek to give life to” said visiting MP, Dr Michael Cardo from Cape Town, on Monday night, 30 May, during a DA meeting at the Franskraal Bowling Club, with the residents of Franskraal.
The aim of the meeting was for residents to be introduced to the Candidate Councillor for Ward 1, Rev Andrew Komani from Masakhane, who will represent the DA in this ANC constituency. Ward 1 includes Masekane, Franskraal and Klipfonteyn 1.
Overstrand Mayor Nicolette Botha-Guthrie stated the importance of the 2016 local elections and the fact that every vote will count.
In his speech Andrew Komani thanked Phillip and Lorraine Fourie, a couple from Franskraal, for encouraging him to stand as a councillor in the local election. He said that the people of Masakhane are ready for change and look forward to have a councillor who is available to serve the community, who will listen and participate. He will also do his best to serve the Franskraal and Klipfonteyn 1 communities.
