Spalted Fine Woodcraft

Spalting

When wood is spalted it means that there is some sort of wood coloration affecting the wood. This is caused by a type of fungi.

Spalting is primarily found in dead trees but can also occur in living trees that are under stress.

Spalted wood is extremely sought after by woodworkers as it created stunning designs, colorations and patterns on the wood.
