Poison Emergency Treatment for Dogs
This is an emergency measure until you can take your pet to the vet. Get the dog to vomit as soon as possible.
1. Administer 5 ml of 3% peroxide volume 10 with a syringe.
2. Administer slowly into the mouth and allow to swallow (beware of the lungs).
3. After vomiting, mix 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal powder with a bit of water (5 - 10 capsules) and administer with a syringe into the mouth. If not available, burn 4 slices of white bread in an oven to charcoal and feed.
For Two-Step Aldicarb Poisoning:
Follow the first two steps above and then rush to the vet for an intravenous atropine injection.
With Rat Poison:
Follow the first two steps above, then administer vitamin K intravenously with kyrovite or second best, vitamin K tablets.
Get your supply of cortisone and antihistamines from your vet.
