The amount of love for the Overberg going around the past week, you would think we had the dates wrong for Valentine’s Day! Last week saw the annual Lighthouse to Lighthouse MTB Race and the love inspired #discoverOverberg…
The opening event of the Gansbaai Sports Events Calendar took place the past weekend and was once again a great success. The Race pays tribute to the area as it meanders from the Danger Point Lighthouse to the infamous L’Agulhas Lighthouse at the most southern tip of Africa. The route passes by the old shipwrecks that lay hidden in the shallow waters of the southern coast, through fields of flowering Fynbos and private lands and showcases the beautiful natural landscapes this part of the world has to offer.
The #discoverOverberg chat was simply dripping with the sweetness of everybody’s Valentine’s Day plans last Wednesday. Many plans included indulging in the sweet nectar of the gods at one of our established wine farms and languid strolls on our pristine beaches, but definitely didn’t stop there. Trying out the local cuisine, enjoying cosy accommodation and spoiling yourself and/or your loved one to some spa and well-being treatments was also on the list. Some are even planning to spice it up a little bit this year and go Shark Cage Diving to truly get their hearts pumping.
So with an endless list of romantic antics to get up to and the perfect setting of the Overberg… what will you be doing this Valentine’s Day?
