Life on the Grootbos Reserve
From the heart of the fynbos: Protea aspera, also known as the rough-leafed sugarbush. This unique, ground-growing protea has a strong scent and is pollinated by mice, one of nature’s fascinating partnerships.
Nearby, a Southern Rock Agama was spotted, a species that gives birth to live young. This one appears to be a pregnant female, with possible movement seen in her belly.
Every day at Grootbos brings a new glimpse into the wonders of nature!
