Winter fun in the sun!
We have been blessed with stunning weather the last few weekends and lots of people joining me on rides. We have had groups from Mexico, Russia, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Texas and California and love seeing our international visitors back on our shores. We have a bit to go to open up tourism fully to international visitors but in the meantime loving my job giving locals and internationals such an amazing experience in Walker Bay Nature reserve.
We have had a range of skills and ages from 7 years old to novies and people who haven't ridden a bike for years after a bike injury. It is truly rewarding seeing people build their confidence throughout the trail and come out at Die Plaat elated by the experience and regained confidence in mountain biking and biking in general. It is a dream job and just so rewarding for my soul to give people this experience to remember for the rest of their lives.
The Whales are in the bay in numbers now and we are seeing Whales on every tour right from the top of the Dunes 185m above sea level all of the way down to the beach and rugged cliffs. A great comment from a client which summed up the experience:
"I am jealous of you being able to go out there all the time so close to nature. Yes, lucky.
I was surprised that such a varied group could be catered for. I am glad our trip was postponed, and we did not go out alone but in the big group, so I saw how all levels were handled. When I mentioned it to my manager, to market yesterday the first thing she also said it looks too hard and scary. Such a misconception. Between yourself, Sara's horses and Ivanhoe tourists are treated to some excellent experiences. Everyone needs it more these days to get fit and relax in fresh air."
