Sketching and painting has been a life-long passion for Trish Visser and her work in oils spans almost four decades. From the days of her early training at the Len Thomas Art School, and later, under the expert tuition of David Botha, her journey has taken in scenes that are quintessentially South Africa: From the lush and verdant Cape Winelands; vast Highveld skies and secret hidden Karoo lands; to the gentle beauty of grazing Nguni Cattle in remote pastures; Trish has been able to express not just what her eye can see, but what she feels in her heart.
Her success is measured by the number of local and overseas sales and commissions, countless exhibitions, including this year’s Art in the Park in Pietermaritzburg, in which she has been featured for eleven years. Trish has branched out to include a series of mini paintings of varied subjects, including commissions for wildlife, and marine animals. These paintings of sharks and whales are from original photographs taken by Marine Dynamics and Dyer Island Cruises and are available in the Great White House Curio Shop.
