Don’t even bother dusting off your running shoes, just add another layer of dirt to them at any one of the Funky Fynbos Trail Running events this September!
With the Funky Fynbos Festival running straight at us, it’s only fair that we join them on the footpaths on the Lomond Wine Estate and the surrounding Fynbos-clad mountains. Stop and smell the Proteas on the better-than-ever running trails where you can find not only the beautiful Lomond Dam, but also gorgeous sunsets on the distant horizon. Just don’t stare too long, you might lose that mighty lead you built-up.
The three trail running events will set off from the picturesque Lomond Wine Estate. From there contestants will head off into the Walker Bay Conservancy, a collection of protected farms conserving and protecting the indigenous, unique and awe-inspiring fauna and flora that is found in the Overberg. Navigate your way through fields of Fynbos and descend into stinkwood forests as you put one foot in front of the other on your path to victory.
