Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant › Hermanus › Western Cape › South Africa

One of the older suburbs in Hermanus, Mount Pleasant straddles the R43 at the entrance to Hermanus “proper” and is a well-established neighbourhood with shops, a primary school, crèches, a park and a community hall that is kept busy with local events. It is the traditional home of the Coloured community in Hermanus.

The colourfully painted houses facing onto the main road are a feature of the character of Mount Pleasant as is the busy sports field where top local rugby and soccer teams tackle each other on weekends. Tennis courts and netball courts cater for the less physical but sporty types.
