Pearly Beach Conservancy AGM and Nature Walk Highlights

The Pearly Beach Conservancy AGM on 19 December was well attended. The Chair’s and Treasurer’s reports were presented, and the Management Committee for 2025 was elected. Then, Mike Dormer, a local geological expert, gave a fascinating presentation about the geology of the Pearly Beach area.

After the AGM and talk, attendees were invited on a walk in the private nature reserve at Klein Paradijs. The hikers enjoyed listening to Mike’s geological explanations and seeing the currently flowering species, such as Christmas bush (Aulax umbellata), Rooistompie (Mimetes cucullatus), and Cape Everlasting (Syncarpha vestita), to name just a few.

The minutes of the meeting will be available shortly.
