A Sweet GGAP Story From Gansbaai!

Do you want to hear something heartwarming?

BJ, the artist behind our "Gansbaai Welcomes You" mural at Guthrie and Theron, shared this lovely moment with us.

Last Friday, while painting the mural, a couple stopped by and asked to take a photo. Their story made our day!

Just moments before, this man had proposed to his beloved at the Gansbaai Caves! He lovingly calls her “my suikerbekkie” (my little sugarbird). She even brought a cushion with a sugarbird and their special Bible verse on it.

What better place to take a photo on such a special day than in front of “Robyn,” our Gansbaai Sugar Bird on the mural? A memory they’ll treasure forever.

We’re so happy to share that we found out who they are - Moreen Kriel and Riaan Beetge.

Moreen commented on our post:

"Ek is daardie spesiale ‘Suikerbekkie’ en wil net baie dankie sê vir die mooi gedeelte hierbo en die geleentheid nie net om die mooi foto te kon neem nie, maar ook om die kunstenaar te ontmoet. Dankie dat julle Gansbaai so mooi maak."

GGAP is here to make Gansbaai a place full of kindness, colour, and joy.
