WEATHER WARNING: COLD FRONT COMING

SAWS has issued a weather advisory for parts of the Western Cape, including Overstrand, from late Friday evening through to Monday (6-9 June 2025).

Very cold, wet, and windy conditions are expected this weekend and residents are urged to take the following precautions:

• Clean your home’s drains, gutters and downpipes of leaves and debris to assist with the flow of stormwater
• Bring any loose outdoor objects indoors
• Limit travel wherever possible
• If you are on the road, keep a safe following distance and ensure your vehicle’s wipers and headlights are on and working

Overstrand Municipality’s emergency response teams will be on high alert.

If you experience a municipal services emergency, please call our Contact Centre on:

• 028 313 8111 - Municipal infrastructure emergencies (e.g. blocked stormwater drains)
• 028 312 2400 - Fire, flood, or medical emergencies
• 028 313 8000 - General enquiries and municipal accounts
• 028 313 8996 - Day-to-day law enforcement complaints
