Celebrating the Cape Floral Kingdom in Masakhane
Last week, the Fynbos Explorers art session in Masakhane - a collaboration between the Grootbos Earth Rangers programme and Creative Skills Art - celebrated the extraordinary beauty of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
Together, the children created a vibrant collage showcasing local flora and fauna, featuring iconic species like the king protea, pincushions, tortoises, birds, and even the elusive leopard.
To truly connect with the colours, shapes, and scents of the Fynbos, the group made their own floral crowns and flower buckets to take home - a joyful reminder of the day’s creativity and learning.
This session was a beautiful blend of environmental education, artistic expression, and appreciation for the natural world.
