The Pearly Beach Drop-off will be open for four Wednesdays, namely 17, 24 and 31 December, as well as 7 January. The Drop-off will then be closed again on Wednesdays from Wednesday, 14 January 2026.

The Drop-off operates from 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays, and from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and certain public holidays (closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). Please observe these opening times and refrain from dumping refuse, both garden and household, outside the gates before opening time and after the Drop-off is closed. These additional arrangements have been made for the convenience of residents and our holidaymakers.

Refuse collection in Pearly Beach will be undertaken as usual on Mondays. Please ensure your refuse is placed in black bags and recyclables in transparent bags by 7.00 am. One bag of garden refuse may be placed out per week, together with these bags. Households are requested not to put their refuse out on a day other than collection day, as this violates the by-law and offenders will be fined. It also attracts vagrants, seabirds and other animals, who strew the contents over the sidewalk.

While there is sufficient water available at present, residents and holidaymakers are asked to use our water sparingly, particularly over the holiday season. This is a water-scarce area, and water is a precious commodity. Throughout the Overstrand, gardens may not be watered using municipal water between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.

Traffic regulations apply in Pearly Beach, the same as they do throughout the country. Stop streets are not yield signs, and vehicles should observe these signs at all stop streets and not slowly cruise through. The speed limit in the village is 60 kph, and drivers not in possession of a valid driver’s licence may not drive any vehicle on the streets, this includes children sitting on their parent’s lap! Infringements will be policed by municipal traffic officials. No one wants their holiday negatively affected by receiving a traffic fine. Please be vigilant, as children play in the streets.

Please keep our streets safe!
