Gansbaai Tourism welcomes all visitors and we hope that you will enjoy your stay. Winter in Gansbaai has its special attractions – the southern right whales are starting to arrive; the sunsets and even sunrises are awesome; on sunny days there are a number of hikes to enjoy and on those cold and windy days a drive to Baardskeerdersbos or even Stanford highlights the scenic beauty while various activities can be enjoyed there as well. The coffee shops and restaurants have special winter warmers! For more information on the various activities, pay a visit to our Bureau at Gateway centre. There are also some special treats for the youngsters. Things may be quiet now in July but they will be hotting up soon.

9-11 August is our Fees van die Ganse Winter Fynbos and Music Extravaganza Show. This takes place at Academia High School. Meander through the Fynbos show accompanied by the strains of live music in the background. The display showcases the fynbos in its natural environment as well as the effects of fires and alien plants. Afterwards relax in the tea garden still surrounded by Fynbos. All the while the children can ride ponies or show their expertise on the climbing wall.  Purchase gifts from the craft stalls. (Friday and Saturday 09h00-17h00) On Saturday evening enjoy a meal in the Fynbos while listing to the notes of the pan flute of Hendrik Britz and strands of the guitar played by Joe Bezuidenhoudt. A praise and worship service completes the experience on Sunday morning at 11h00.

21 September is our Fees van die Ganse Seafood Street Festival featuring a whole host of activities, stalls and entertainment. The Herberg-aan-See Basaar will set the mood for the rest of the days activities. Book now for “ Groet die Grotman” which will be presented in the Pretorius hall on the 21st September at 20h00. Tickets are already available from our bureau.

The annual BARC pet show takes place on Tuesday 24 September on the Laerskool Field. Gansbaai - sharks, whales AND SO MUCH MORE!

For more information on any of the above contact us on 028-384-1439 or gansbaaiinfo@telkomsa.net or even better come to the Bureau from Monday to Friday 09h00-17h00. Saturdays 09h00-16h00 and Sundays 10h00-14h00.
