Gansbaai Golf Club August 2024 Newsletter Summary
Here's an update on what's happening at Gansbaai Golf Club this August! From important meetings and exciting competitions to member achievements and social events, there’s plenty to look forward to this month.
• Annual General Meeting: Date: 22 August 2024 at 17:30. Agenda includes opening, presentations, captain’s report, financial statements, member fees, auditor appointment, constitutional matters, honorary member confirmation, and office bearers election.
• Membership: We currently have 173 members, including 132 golfers and various social and country members.
• Upcoming Event: Steak evening on Friday, 9th August.
• Achievements: Pieter won the Silver medal at the Pearl Valley Open (36 holes). Congratulations to Pieter!
• Golf Rules Tip: Explanation of rules for removing movable obstructions (like a can) and natural objects (like a branch).
• Competition Results: Various competitions results from July, including Single Stableford and Medal competitions. Some competitions were canceled due to weather.
• League Updates: Bakleiliga final held at Gansbaai, with Gansbaai team winning against Bonnievale. Overberg Brodie League result: Gansbaai lost to Arabella.
• Upcoming Competitions: Schedule of competitions from 2nd August to 6th September, including Single Stableford, Medal, and special events.
• Birthdays: Birthdays acknowledgment.
