Empowering Young Women: Menstrual Health in Sports

At Grootbos Foundation, we're proud to run a sports development programme that includes a menstrual health initiative across all sports codes. By providing free sanitary pads, we help ensure young women don't miss out on school, sports, or other activities because of their menstrual cycle. This helps to narrow the gap between genders and opens up more opportunities for everyone.

Our programme also offers educational lessons and discussions with children and teens, both in school and on the sports field. These sessions are for all genders, as we believe that normal, healthy biological cycles shouldn't be a source of embarrassment or exclusion.

In our community, female rugby players are leading the way, playing with confidence, protecting their health, and inspiring others as positive role models.
