Stanford Welcomes Chelsea Flower Exhibit
We could not have been more proud or more excited to open Leon Kluge and Tristan Woudberg's 'Chelsea Flower' exhibit as part of Stanford in Bloom on Wednesday, 10 September. Thanks to poet Siphokazi Jonas and singer Nolundi Nonono ,who added their voices and cultural artistry in the form of poetry and song, John Maytham from Cape Talk radio officially cut the ribbon and flung open the doors to reveal the Cape Floral exhibit that took the world's collective breath away at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May this year. Now, on South African soil in the heart of fynbos country in the village of Stanford, the exhibit is even bigger and better for locals to relish.
If you haven't yet booked your tickets, you still can on Webtickets, or at Pick n Pay, or at the door.
Stanford in Bloom is the name of the village festival, which has burst into full bloom around the Chelsea exhibi,t so there are plenty of good reasons to spend the whole day in Stanford.
Listen to some of John Maytham's 'Afternoon Drive', which was broadcast from inside the Chelsea Flower building on opening day here!
