20 Days to Christmas: Check-off Time

Is there anything you didn’t manage to complete this week? Is it important to complete now, or can it go onto your priority list for next week?

You achieve two things here:

• Checking off your list, knowing completion has been achieved, can be rewarding in the recognition you give yourself. Every time you complete a task, you trigger a natural release of dopamine - the Reward Hormone. The side effect of this is that you do not need to find this release on social media, you have it within your power to trigger the release simply by ticking off on a piece of paper. It brings a sense of accomplishment, recognition, and feeling good about yourself.

• Knowing what is moving over to next week, you can allow it to rest until next week. The brain finds peace in the knowledge that the task is organised and allocated. There is nothing to worry about because you know that you will give attention to it next week. This frees you up to spend quality time anywhere you choose.
