The Project Citizen is a project organised and established to improve the well-being of South-African Schools and communities, with the help of the learners and teachers. Schools have to identify problems in either the school or community and strive to find solutions for that chosen problem.

The Sharkies (Gansbaai Academia) chose ill-discipline in the school, and as ill-discipline is a broad problem, they chose to emphasize absenteeism in the school. Sharkies participating in the project are: Analo Yawa, Johan van der Merwe, Daylene van Riet, Zadia Plaaitjies, Lorenzo van der Raath, Sikhulule Kutu, Stefan Joubert, Shameul Leonard, Imadra Mabasa and Jo-Marie Joseph, with the assistance of mentors: Ms. Mona Matthews and Mrs. Anneri Harding-Male as well as Mr Mike from the WCED.

The showcase will be on the 17th October 2015 where Sharkies will present the problem, observations and solutions.
