Grootbos Foundation Nature Survey Highlights
Our Conservation Research Team has been busy this week, doing a quick survey on the Conservancy and enjoying the nice early winter weather. Check out this beautiful Leucodendron tinctum (spicy conebush) they found!
But that's not all - we also spotted some Monkey beetles having fun on a King Protea. Watch the video attached to see these cute little creatures!
During the survey, our team had a big discussion. Identifying restios can be tough, and they had trouble with one plant. Here it is close up... do you think you know what species it is? Please help us.
And here's a close-up of a colourful caterpillar - it's a Diaphone eumela, also called the Cherry Spot or Lily Borer Moth.
Stay tuned for more updates from Grootbos Foundation as we keep working to protect nature and learn more about it.
