Cobra Rescue by Grootbos Foundation

We recently assisted a cobra that was accidentally injured during roadworks between Stanford and Gansbaai. Kurt and Mike from our Conservation Research team quickly stepped in to help. They expertly coaxed the cobra into a tube to safely assess its injury, ensuring its backbone was not damaged and disinfected the wound. Thankfully, the cobra was unharmed and could be safely released back into its natural habitat.

Our team is dedicated to protecting wildlife and helping animals like this cobra when human activities inadvertently cause harm. These moments allow us to empower the community to become protectors of wildlife, aligning with one of our core goals at the Grootbos Foundation.
