Semester at Sea Meets Grootbos Foundation!
Recently, we welcomed 29 inspiring voyagers from the USA, participants of Semester at Sea, an international study program that lets students explore and learn across borders from the unique setting of an ocean liner! Taking a semester out of college, they dedicated five days to immerse themselves in the work of the Grootbos Foundation and experience the beauty of our fynbos landscape.
During their time at the Grootbos Environmental Center (GEC), these students explored the region, learned about our community projects, and saw the positive impact of our Foundation and other NPOs firsthand. They didn’t hesitate to roll up their sleeves to make a difference! From making peanut butter sandwiches to support our sports program to helping rejuvenate an old garden space, their contribution was invaluable.
