Meet Our New Interns: Coco and Nicholas!

We're excited to welcome two new faces to the Grootbos Foundation team!

Coco joins us for two months from the University of North Carolina, USA, as part of the Carolina Blue Fellowship programme. She’s working across our Sports and Communications teams.

Here’s what Coco had to say:

“I applied to Grootbos to step far outside my comfort zone. I’ve never been to South Africa before and wanted to immerse myself in a new culture. Grootbos combines my interests in youth development, sports, and communication. It’s been amazing to work with a purpose-driven team where every small task contributes to something bigger.

What’s surprised me most? The incredible warmth of the people and the breathtaking beauty of the landscape, from the mountains to the coastline. I feel lucky to be here.”

Nicholas (pictured left with Coach Corrie) is our new sports volunteer. He’s passionate about sport and working with children, and has been blown away by the beauty of South Africa and the kindness of the people.

“Every time I visit, I’m reminded of how special this place is. The people truly make you feel at home. That sense of community is one of the reasons I keep coming back.”

We’re so grateful to have both of them on board and look forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in the weeks ahead!
