Did you know Grootbos Foundation has a curated insect collection of over 60,000 pinned specimens?

Carly Vlotman, our entomology curator, has spent years collecting and studying insects from Grootbos Private Nature Reserve and the Walker Bay region. This special collection is one of only a few like it in South Africa, and it’s all from one area!

On Thursday, 19 June 2025 at 13:00, Carly will share more about her work and explain why a regional insect collection is so important.
