Tiny Farmers You Won’t Believe Exist
Ever heard of tiny insects running their own “farms”?
Meet Aphids, tiny bugs with a surprisingly clever partnership with Ants.
Ants protect aphids from predators, move them to fresh plants, and care for them like livestock. In return, aphids produce a sweet, sugary liquid called honeydew, a treat ants can’t resist.
With a gentle tap of their antennae, ants “milk” the aphids to release this sugary reward.
Nature is full of incredible teamwork, even at the smallest scale.
