Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Cape fur seal, Short-tail stingray, Indian Ocean humpback dolphins + Humpback whale

Summary: Calm before the coming storm! We launched in beautiful weather conditions, with the sun shining and only slight swells on the water. Upon arrival, our eager guests suited up in their 5mm wetsuits, and shortly after, the first Bronze Whaler sharks were spotted. We enjoyed frequent and close encounters throughout the trip, including sightings of a well-known female Short-tail stingray and a relaxed Cape fur seal. In the distance, we were also lucky enough to spot a few Indian Ocean humpback dolphins. On our way back toward the harbour, we were alerted to a Humpback whale nearby, giving our guests plenty of time to witness this incredible early-season sighting! A big thank you to all our guests for joining our team today!
