Boland Hockey and Canoeing Success for Local Youth

This is Onwaba Nkelenjane, who has been elected for the Under 14 Inter-Provincial Tournament A Boland Hockey Team. Onwaba started playing sports with the foundation when he was 5years old and attending Masakhane Pre-Primary. He followed his brother Liyema Nkelenjane and friends to the field and has been playing hockey ever since. This will be Onwaba's 4th Representation for Boland Hockey as he was selected for his first team at the age of 11 years. We are proud to look back at the longitudinal impact of a variety of programmes and mentors in Onwaba's life.

Last weekend, the canoeing team had a great day paddling at the Western Province Championships at Zandvlei in Cape Town. Lukhanyo won Gold in Under 12 K2, Bubuntu and Khanyo won Bronze in the  Under 14 K2, Sakhe and Yonwaba won Gold in Under 16 K2 and Bronze in Under 18 K2, and Neriyah won Bronze in the  Under 23 K2. This canoeing team has developed depth as they have continued to develop their skills and stamina. They have earned these excellent results through their dedication.
