National Lotteries Commission-Funded HIV & TB Awareness Programme Launches in Gansbaai

Gansbaai, Western Cape - Sunshine Nation NPO (NPO 311-451) is proud to announce the launch of its HIV and TB Awareness Programme, made possible through funding of R464,829.07 from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

This programme is funded by the National Lotteries Commission and implemented by Sunshine Nation NPO in partnership with Ikamva Blompark, bringing vital HIV and TB awareness, education and support services to communities in the Greater Gansbaai area.

As part of this initiative, Ikamva Blompark will provide qualified healthcare staff to conduct HIV testing, as well as professional pre-test and post-test counselling services. Funding received from the National Lotteries Commission enables Sunshine Nation NPO to coordinate the programme, deliver community awareness campaigns, organise outreach events, provide educational materials, and supply refreshments during community activities.

Weekly HIV services will be available in:

• Eluxolweni
• Blompark
• Masakhane

The programme will also host monthly Health Awareness Days in these communities, where residents can access:

• HIV and TB education
• HIV testing and counselling (provided by Ikamva Blompark)
• Health promotion activities
• Community support and referrals
• Free bread and cooldrink

The goal of the programme is to increase awareness, encourage regular HIV testing, promote TB prevention and treatment, reduce stigma, and improve access to health information and support within the community.

Sunshine Nation NPO sincerely thanks the National Lotteries Commission for its generous investment in community health and wellbeing. The organisation also acknowledges Ikamva Blompark for providing the professional healthcare personnel responsible for HIV testing and counselling services.

Residents are encouraged to follow Sunshine Nation NPO's social media pages for updates on weekly outreach services and upcoming Health Awareness Days.

The NLC relies on funds from the proceeds of the National Lottery. The Lotteries Act and regulations guide the way in which NLC funding may be allocated. The NLC wants the grants to make a difference to the lives of all South Africans, especially those more vulnerable, and to improve the sustainability of the beneficiary organisations. Available funds are distributed to registered and qualifying non-profit organisations in the fields of charities; arts, culture, and national heritage; and sport and recreation. By placing its emphasis on areas of greatest need and potential, the NLC contributes to South Africa's development.

Project Funding Acknowledgement:

This project is funded by the National Lotteries Commission. HIV testing and pre-test and post-test counselling services are provided by Ikamva Blompark through its qualified healthcare staff.
