Grootbos Foundation U19 Soccer
From the sports desk: The U19 Grootbos Foundation Soccer team participated in the Super Cup Tournament in Botrivier on Saturday, where they rallied but ultimately lost 1-0 to the U19s from George Football Club. On Wednesday this week, the Under 19 teams played in the Kay Motsepe School League in the Gansbaai Academia High School kit. Although they lost 0-1 to the U19 team from Qhayiya Secondary School, their coaches were proud of their teamwork and strong defence. Playing matches is an important part of sports development as it provides teams with memorable highlights and opportunities to set themselves new targets. Working together as a team towards a goal teaches focus and commitment. Occasionally, individual players will be chosen to join a provincial team for an individual elite experience and there is enormous value and inspiration in these individual highlight moments, but the greatest impact of development sport is through teamwork.
