Grootbos Foundation Skills and Enterprise Programme Update

The Horticulture Skills students have been working hard on some practical landscaping contracts this week, which not only help to generate funds for further training but also give them an opportunity to learn on the job and not only in the classroom.

These hospitality students are going places! This new vehicle was purchased with the support of the Jobs Fund, a proud partner of Grootbos Foundation's programmes that provide skills training and mentorship that prepare people for jobs. Some job pathways involve months of accredited training in the classroom combined with practical workplace experience...other job pathways take a lighter approach and focus on the softer skills of personal development, professional confidence, mentorship and strategic introductions to develop personal networks. In every pathway, jobs are the goal.

Enterprise Programme Update: The independent Green Steward teams attended a Money Skills training workshop this week designed by Grootbos Foundation to support these female teams in their journey towards good business practice and financial independence. The impact of their practical work will benefit the environment and help to collectively reach conservation targets.
