This week, a team from DFM Technologies installed two soil moisture probes on Grootbos. These probes are 1.8m long and can detect how water moves through the soil column. The project aims to understand the hydrology of fynbos and milkwood forest habitats, allowing us to see where fynbos and trees get their water through the different seasons.
