Endangered Southern Adder Spotted at Grootbos
Our parting shot this week is of one of the team's favourite reptiles... a Southern Adder (Bitis armata) that they photographed minding its own business and enjoying the spring weather. This little venomous adder is endangered and found in the coastal fynbos plains of the Western Cape. Its greatest threat is habitat loss so our team celebrates when they find it flourishing in a healthy ecosystem.
