The Gansbaai golf club is unique in that it lies at the southernmost tip of Africa. Any further south and you would need to play in Antarctica. Luckily the climate is far from antarctic. The golf course is situated on the Cape south western coast in the beautiful district of Overberg and boasts a mild climate all year. Winter in the western cape is generally known as not too favourable for golf but one of our best kept secrets is our wonderful winter golf weather here in Gansbaai in the Overberg.
Most of the tee boxes offers one expansive views over the ocean. This nine hole golf course has a typical links lay out although it is not classified as such. Do not be fooled that this is just another small town golf course; the course could prove challenging for some, so do come prepared to test your golf skills. You may just become hooked by the charm of the course itself whilst also enjoying the informal friendly atmosphere at the club house.
Attached are three different application forms with the pro rata fees till the end of 2017. You will notice that our fees are very reasonable. If you are interested please submit a signed form to our club using our email address and you will then be considered for membership. Please study the different options, Men's fees, Ladies fees and Pensioners fees.
We have an active club offering competitions on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and also social functions like our popular steak evenings on the last Friday of each month. The club regularly offers sponsored competitions. We may be a small town golf club but we are open seven days a week for golf or for a social visit. The club runs a fully licenced bar.
