Yes, it’s that time of year again! Herberg’s annual bazaar is just around the corner, taking place in the Pretorius Hall on 21 September.

This isn’t just any event, it's a celebration of community spirit and support for Gansbaai’s long-standing assisted living retirement home.

A Community Gathering

Every year, Herberg’s residents and their friends come together to host this fantastic fundraiser, ensuring Herberg-aan-See continues to thrive. From tables selling home-baked goodies and cakes to the ever-popular white elephant stand, there’s something for everyone.

So, mark your calendars and prepare for a day of fun, bargains, and community spirit! But first, the organisers need your help.

To make this year’s bazaar as amazing as ever, Herberg-aan-See needs stock.

Your Generosity Makes a Difference

Here’s how you can contribute:

• Needlework: Knitted items, crochet work, blankets, aprons, oven gloves - come on Gansbaai, it's time to show off your crafting skills!
• Toys: Anything that will brighten a child’s day - from play dough to dolls clothes and wooden dinky cars, you name it, the kids want it.
• Baked Goods: Rusks, loaves of bread, cakes, tarts and biscuits - if it’s fresh from the oven, it belongs on the cake table.
• Sweets: Fudge, coconut ice, lucky packets - anything that will satisfy the sweet tooth!
• Ingredients: Flour, oil, eggs, sugar, jelly, meat, fish - every bit helps to make the traditional puddings and stews synonymous with old-fashioned bazaars!
• Books: Fiction, non-fiction, coffee table books, recipes, children’s books, magazines - let’s fill the bazaar’s bookshelves!
• Plants: From trays of seedlings to fruit trees, if it grows in soil it belongs at the nursery stand!
• White Elephant: Crockery, cutlery, soft furnishings, ornaments, tools - you name it, the second-hand table wants it!
