We are super excited for our second Funky Fynbos Festival. Last year’s festival was a great success and we are very proud to have the continued support of sponsor Rockets, Cape Mohair and African Expressions. The weekend offers the opportunity to celebrate our unique floral heritage with a fynbos display, fynbos talks, fynbos harvesting and demonstrations. There will be local craft stalls and food merchants, and some great music – this is a country fair and the crafts will be authentic and from the area.
Three major events will attract sporting fanatics and driving enthusiasts. There will be a MTB race, a trail run as well as challenging 4x4 tracks, fishing at Lomond dam, fynbos trails and much more. Each participant will receive a goodie bag, but please take note that there are only limited amount of goodie bags for both the MTB and Trail run, so make sure you enter in advance to avoid disappointment. Each participant finishing a race will receive a medal, and lucky draw prizes for all participants.
There will also be a Funky Fynbos Iron man and Iron lady prize for the best combined time for the 45km Monster mountain bike race on the Saturday and the 30km King Protea trail run on the Sunday. First male and first female each will win a night for two at the 5-star Grootbos Nature Reserve worth R7000 sponsored by Grootbos.
