ABOUT NOLUNDI

Nolundi Nonono, a talented vocalist from Hermanus in the Western Cape, is gaining recognition for her unique fusion of Afro-pop and African sounds. Her musical journey began at Lukhanyo Primary School, and since 2018, she has performed with the acclaimed Spairo Art Foundation, captivating audiences at venues like the Baxter Theatre.

For the past two years, Nolundi has been mentored by Creative Skills Factory as part of their Youth Arts and Culture Programme, which has helped her develop both artistically and professionally.

In 2023, she won the Star Search Overstrand Finals, showcasing her talent as a soloist and guest artist. She has since performed at prestigious events like the FynArts Festival and the Stanford Christmas Market, and her achievements include co-hosting the 2024 Star Search Overstrand and performing live on Cape Town TV.

EDUCATIONAL ASPIRATIONS

In 2025, Nolundi will attend the Bridges for Music Academy in Langa to study Music Production. This scholarship was awarded to Nolundi by the Academy due to her devotion to her craft. Nolundi will be the only rural student attending this esteemed programme. As the first in her family to pursue tertiary education, she is determined to pave a road into the industry for her community by succeeding in attending the institution. Her goal is to create opportunities for other young artists in the Overstrand to follow in her footsteps.
