Building Homes for Penguins

African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary

Building Homes for Penguins

Here’s Dean and Enva from our team, hard at work building new homes for one of Africa’s most endangered seabirds, the African penguin.

Our Penguin Penthouse Project is all about giving penguins a safe place to raise their chicks. Years ago, people took the guano (bird droppings) they used to build their nests with, and now many penguins are left to nest on open ground, where it’s too hot, too wet, and too dangerous.

These special nests help keep the penguins safe from the weather and predators, giving their chicks a better chance to grow up strong.

Every nest counts. Let’s give penguins a better future, one penthouse at a time.
