Mr Jacques le Roux

Mesdames Nelia Muller, Wilma Brent, and Shirley Coetzee (scribe)

APOLOGIES:

Ms Vivienne Burton-Moore

Mr Trevor Archer

APPROVAL OF APRIL MINUTES

The April 2025 minutes were approved.

Proposed by Alderman Coetzee and seconded by Nelia Muller.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES

Infrastructure and Maintenance

There is still some street signage that needs replacing. The committee was requested to note any additional signage in the village that requires repair or replacement. Wilma indicated that she had already started compiling a list. Nelia stated that there were still five tortoise signs outstanding.

A number of potholes require attention and these would be reported via the Collaborator platform.

UPDATE FROM WARD COUNCILLOR

Cllr Fourie advised the meeting that provision had been made in the budget for R2.7 million for the drilling of boreholes, and an amount of R500,000 for the Waste Water Treatment Works in Eluxolweni.

It was noted that Ward Specific funds would be allocated to the repair of the boardwalks at Castle Beach, Beach Road, and Rotunda Way.

FINANCE AND MEMBERSHIP

Shirley advised that one new application for membership had been received from Bernard van der Walt. His application was proposed by Shirley, seconded by Nelia, and unanimously approved by the Committee.

No financial report was available, but this would be presented at the July meeting.

BUILDING PLANS

Nelia submitted the Building Monitor’s Report.

GENERAL

Several issues were raised regarding various properties in Ridge Road.

Concern was expressed regarding the retention dam in Alikreukel Street. Shirley would write to the Municipal Manager on behalf of the PBRPA regarding safety measures to be implemented, such as the erection of a fence and suitable signage on the property.

Nelia raised the use of a brush cutter to clear erven in Rotunda Way and The Crescent. Alderman Coetzee stated that Pearly Beach is a registered conservancy and therefore residential properties may only be cleared using hand-held tools. He suggested that the PBRPA address this matter with the Municipal Manager.

The next public meeting will be held on 24 July at the DR Church at 16:30. Venue to be confirmed by Wilma closer to the time.

The business matters having been concluded, the meeting was closed at 17:30.
